Chocolate Easter Bunny & Easter Eggs
Let your imagination run wild and create your own delicious Easter Bunny and Easter Eggs!
METHOD
Step 1. Make sure your chocolate mould is clean and completely dry.
Step 2. Melt the chocolate in a microwave safe bowl or melt pot, stirring after every 30 seconds to prevent overheating. Let it cool until it's still warm and fluid, but no longer hot to the touch.
Step 3. Pour melted chocolate into each cavity. Swirl around so that it starts to cover the inside of the cavity.
Add more chocolate if necessary to the moulds until you have enough to coat all the interior surfaces with a thick layer this will help with structural integrity for a hallow egg. Or fill entirely for a solid egg.
Step 4. While the chocolate is still wet, scrape across the top of the mould with the offset spatula or a chef's knife, to clean off the edges of the mould so that the finished shapes will have smooth edges.
Step 5. Let the mould sit at room temperature to set the coating. Once set, refrigerate the mould briefly until the coating is solid. Turn the mould upside-down above your work surface, and gently flex to pop out halves.
Step 6. Fill the bottom of your shapes with the treats of your choice.
Step 7. To join top half to the bottom, smear a bit of melted chocolate onto the lip of the bottom half, and press halves gently together. Wipe gently to clear any excess. Or you can use the excess to pipe some decorative dots or lines around the egg.
The bunny or eggs make a delightful Easter gift. Pack into bags and tie with ribbon and gift tags.
